Little South Island Robin

My little robin is just a small mosaic mounted on a photo frame. The frame has a hook and can be mounted onto the wall or it is able to stand on a sideboard or chest of drawers.

I really wanted to practice the feather cuts, also called brush stroke cuts. It’s not my favourite cut. It’s far too random for me but, of course, this is what mosaics are all about… taking a shape and making it move for you.

I used all off cuts and scraps from previous projects to create this mosaic. The subject is made from iridised stained glass and the back ground is made from glass tiles which have been cut in irregular shapes to loosely follow the crazy paving method.

It is for sale here.
