Minor Updates to the Budget Spreadsheet

I’ve made a few small tweaks to the Budget Spreadsheet, so I’m republishing this post to let you know. If you’ve already downloaded an earlier version, you might like to grab the updated copy. You can get your copy here and start tracking your budget with the latest improvements!

We’d just come back from a big overseas trip and that’s when it hit us:

What’s our income looking like these days?
Are we spending too much?
Can we still enjoy our little luxuries—like a favourite café visit or the occasional dinner out?

It gave me a nudge to sit down and take a proper look. So I opened up the computer and made a simple budget sheet using Google Sheets. It really helped us see things clearly. And now I’m sharing it with you, in case you’d like to do the same.

Why Bother with a Budget?

I know what you’re thinking… “Do I really need a budget now?” But honestly, it makes such a difference.

  • You’ll see exactly where your money’s going—no more guessing.
  • It helps you figure out what’s worth the spend, and where you might want to trim.
  • Most of all, it gives peace of mind. You’re in control.

At the end of the day, it’s not just about the dollars and cents—it’s about feeling steady and secure.

So if you’re cruising through life like we are, don’t forget your budget spreadsheet. It’s a bit like a map—it keeps you from drifting too far off course.
