Intro
I really love going to the Auckland zoo, it’s seriously one of my favorite places to visit. Not only does it offer a fantastic opportunity to see such a wide variety of wildlife up close, but it’s also conveniently located just near my house!

Location: Motions Road, Auckland

There’s something magical about being able to observe animals from all around the world in one place. From big cats like lions and tigers, graceful giraffes to adorable little monkeys swinging around their enclosures, there’s always something new and exciting to discover at the zoo.

Auckland Zoo is incredibly dedicated to environmental and animal ecology. This place is a haven for all the wildlife enthusiasts out there. They have made it their mission to actively contribute towards the preservation of endangered species, while simultaneously creating a sustainable and thriving ecosystem within their grounds. The Auckland Zoo also offers various amazing educational programs, aiming to raise awareness about animals’ important role in our ecosystem and the need for their protection. It’s truly inspiring to see how they are not only providing a fantastic experience for visitors but also how they make an impactful difference in promoting environmental sustainability.

Plus, they have informative displays and hold educational talks that give visitors like me a chance to learn more about these incredible creatures. I love the keeper talks and always make a point of going to see the colourful birds at the Flight School show.
It truly is an amazing experience that never fails to make me appreciate the diverse wildlife we share this planet with.

For a one off annual subscription as zoo members we are able to visit whenever we want to which means it is great value. And regularly visiting Bahmi the orangutan at the Auckland Zoo has been the most delightful experience. It’s fascinating to observe his unique behavior as he grows and to and watch his playful antics. Bahmi never fails to captivate onlookers. I can’t help but be enchanted by his expressive eyes and gentle nature; just being near watching him interact with his mum is adorable. Spending time with this incredible primate is not only entertaining but also serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting these endangered species in their natural habitats.
