I was looking for a fun project and this seemed to fit the brief.
Firstly, of course, I fell in love with the yarn. Because it is composed mostly of acrylic it will be hard wearing but the small percentage of wool added into the mix means it should also be warm yet still remain lightweight, perfect for a cool summers evening.
The colour of the yarn made up into a lovely texture with thick and thin parts combined with light and dark shades throughout. I think this gives the shawl a real interest and makes it slightly boho.
The pattern just had to be fairly plain for this type of complex yarn and I think the Seaside pattern was perfect for this. It made up into a soft and drapey shawl in denim hues, simply understated and cuddly.
