I wanted to make a gift for someone who always loves to wear her hair up and who has mentioned in the past that beanies don’t suit her so much.
I think this style of beanie will be perfect for her… still warm yet with a hole at the top to fit a messy bun.
The pattern made up in one evening in uber quick time. I think the repetitive pattern of half double crochet into the back loops made a lovely ribbed texture and gives a luxurious feel.
The yarn is Abbey Road 52% Merino Wool | 48% Acrylic and is available from Spotlight. Luckily the shops are now open so I was able to pop into Spotlight to grab a couple of balls.

- 1 ball would probably do but I made the beanie super loose so I had to start on a second ball and used less than 1/4.
- Colour Nude
Crochet Hook
- 5mm- the pattern recommended 6mm but because I didn’t have this size I went with 5mm and tried to create a loose tension.
