This mosaic mandala has 9 points representing the 9 planets of our solar system. The tesserae include glitter glass, stained glass, mosaic glass tiles, mirror, millefiori, glass beads and ball chain. The predominant colour is a deep navy blue which contrasts with a soft pink background and a feature pop of bright pink glitter.
I made this for a client some time ago. It has always been one of my favourites. You know that time when you create something and everything just… works! Well, this was one of those times, every cut of the glass was precise, nothing shattered and I had just enough of the pink for the background (never been able to find anymore of that colour!)
I was sad to see it go. However, the real pleasure comes from knowing that this mandala had a home and is enjoyed.
